Robert S. Reitman is an entrepreneur and philanthropist with significant multidisciplinary leadership experience. He currently serves as a member of the Board of Managers for BioMotiv and is also a Principal at Riverbend Advisors, a firm that assists businesses, nonprofits and governments in operational, administrative and governmental matters. Mr. Reitman currently serves as a director of The Tranzonic Companies, where he has held various positions since 1968, including Chairman and CEO. In the past, he has served as a director of KeyBank and Weirton Steel Corporation. Prior to joining Tranzonic, he was a Partner in the Burke, Haber & Berick law firm in Cleveland, Ohio.
Mr. Reitman holds a BS in Accounting from West Virginia University and a JD from Case Western Reserve University. Currently, he is Chair Emeritus of the Cleveland Zoological Society and ideastream (public broadcasting in Cleveland, Ohio) and past Chair of Business Volunteers Unlimited, The Mount Sinai Medical Center, The Mount Sinai Health Care Foundation and United Way of Greater Cleveland. He is a Life Director of The Jewish Federation of Cleveland and Director Emeritus of The American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee. In addition to other volunteer activities, he has served as a Director of University Hospitals Case Medical Center in Cleveland, the Greater Cleveland Roundtable and the Advisory Committee of Cleveland Opera.
His honorary recognitions include the National Conference Humanitarian of the Year Award (1997), The American Jewish Committee’s Richard H. Adler Community Leadership Award (1998), The Golden Age Centers Golden Achievement Award (2000), the Charles Eisenman Award of The Jewish Federation of Cleveland (2000) and the National Business Achievement Award of the National Beta Gamma Sigma Society (2010).
